today i turned old

so really it's yesterday now. aw, that's sad, my birthday's over now. they always seem to go by so much faster the older you get. and really, after 21, they're really not as cool anymore. i think they really even start to lose something before that.

remember when you were a kid, and your birthday seemed to last forever, and you got lots of toys, and had awesome parties with all your friends - at the roller rink or chuckie cheese, or just the slumber party where you stayed up soooo late? man, those were the days. sigh.

now you get to work, or go to class, or teach lab until 9 at night. but then your family takes you out to dinner, and they bake you the most awesome birhday cake ever.

so maybe it's not too bad after all....


.... as long as you don't think about turning 24.
